Parish Mission is getting closer

Parish Mission Starts on weekend of 19th/20th of June.

The week includes social events (picnic, café open each day, afternoon tea, hog roast….) because being together as a family is important to us. But also masses morning and evening, a healing Mass, talks, prayers booklets, prayer walks, parents evenings and much more. Join any Mass on the weekend of June 19/20th and find our more.

Three Strands:

 Every Day:

  • There are morning and Evening Masses daily with a short talk after Mass – often on prayer.
  • Prayer guide booklet to take and use at home.
  • Prayer ‘bag’ for housebound with tools for prayer – do you know someone who might use one?
  • Picnic on the first Sunday, Hog Roast on the second Sunday. Café open all week.
  • Both Churches open all day for private prayer.

Specific events include

  • An evening for Polish people - W poniedziałek 21go czerwca w czasie misji polsko-języczna osoba należąca do Sion Community poprowadzi rozmowę misyjną w języku polskim. Dalsze informacje wkrótce. Prosimy rozgłosić dalej.  Rozpowszechniać słowo!
  • Celebrating our generous volunteers (Wednesday evening)
  • Celebrating our Feast Day (St John the Baptist) and the gift of Baptism (Thursday)
  • Healing Mass (Friday at St John’s)

  • We also have a day being run in each school.
  • Children’s activity calendars.
  • Full on activity day on Saturday 26th with climbing wall

An afternoon talk for the retired involved in parish life, followed by afternoon tea - Tickets for the Afternoon tea £2 to cover costs available from this weekend after Masses.

Tuesday 22nd

Masses with testimonies at each Church followed by some reflection on praying with the Bible

Service at Sacred Heart focussing on the call to serve, with a blessing on all who are doing God’s work in some way, followed by refreshments.

‘Prayer walks’ will be arranged at St John’s after Mass.

12 and 6 Masses led by Sion team

Youth Activity Day – fun with spiritual focus – 9.00 to 3.40 for yrs 3-6. Forms in Church porch.

Sunday 27th

3 Masses

Refreshments after the 12 noon Mass

 
We don’t expect anyone to do all of this.
We just hope everyone will dip into the things that will help them
and use the booklets to pray each day.

Mission Activity Day for Y3-Y6   is on Saturday 26th June from 9.00am- 3.40pm with Omega Outdoor Adventure Climbing Wall, Team Games, Craft Activities and much more. Free to those in Y3- Y6.

Afternoon Tea is sold out. Numbers of tickets have been limited due to Covid restrictions.

Barbeque/Hog roast! – Tickets on sale this weekend for this Parish Mission Social event. £3 each. Please let us know if you would like a vegetarian option.
