Sunday Reflection

Today we are faced with challenging images, floods, capture, and thieving. These are frightening life-changing events. We have one life which is precious and fragile. As we reflect let us allow the truly important things in our lives to come to mind The things we can be too busy to see. Have we listened to God’s Word and acted upon it? When our time comes to face God, can we hope he will welcome us with the words ‘Well done, good and faithful servant’?
Staying awake means noticing and being alert to live in the present so we can recognise the Lord when he appears in our lives. He shows himself in the unrehearsed moments, the events that can throw us off balance. Teach us, Lord, to recognise your face wherever I encounter you.
